FAQ

What's the best way to refill my Frigo ice bath?

Our ice baths are super simple to refill. Simply use a water hose, shower, bucket or container and fill to around the 65-70% mark.

What temperature should my ice bath be?

The temperature of an ice bath can vary depending on personal preference, the purpose for which it is being used and the amount of cold water exposure a person has experienced.

For beginners, we suggest keeping your ice baths between 10°-15°C. Taking plunges for no longer than 3 minutes.

At an intermediate level, cold plunges should be maintained at around 10°C. Experiment with timings, always attempting longer than 90 seconds per session. Consistently strive for longer timings or colder plunges. Continuous improvement should always be the focus.

At an expert level, introduce an Ice-to-Water Ratio of one part ice to two parts water. This ratio can be adjusted based on availability of ice. Begin exploring temperatures below 10°C. Ideal for athletes searching for optimal recovery.

Remember everyone's tolerance to cold varies, so it's important to gradually acclimatise your body to the cold water and pay attention to any adverse reactions.

It's best to measure your cold plunges using our ice bath thermometer. Which is designed to be sensitive to cold water temperatures. For a limited time we're offering 30% off to select customers.

If you have any pre-existing medical conditions or concerns, consult with a healthcare professional before using an ice bath.

Avoid dipping below the neck during plunges. There are no scientific benefits associated with exposing the head to cold water.

What is the max length and weight to fit in the tub?

We've designed our ice tub to accommodate individuals of all sizes, up to 2.10m in height. While the tub itself has no weight limits.

When's the best time to take an ice bath?

Post-Workout: Many people prefer to take ice baths immediately after intense workouts or competitions. This preference is particularly common after a period of high-intensity training.

Replace your morning coffee; some people find that starting their day with an ice bath can help wake them up and feel more alert.

Research has shown that cold water exposure can enhance focus and concentration levels throughout the day, which suggests that morning exposure may be the optimal choice.

Ultimately, there is no universally "best time" for an ice bath; the decision should be based on your goals and personal preferences.
